*I Will Never Understand*

I know the sun will rise each day,

I understand that well,

But why you act the way you do

Is more than I can tell.

I know when frost is on the ground

That winter's close behind

But I will never understand

The workings of your mind.

You say will and then you won't,

Or won't and then you will,

So, if you do or if you don't

You leave me guessing still.

Geometry and Algebra

Are some things of my kind,

I wish I knew just half as well

The workings of your mind.

For each effect there is a cause

And that is plain to see,

But why you up and go away

Is such a mystery.

Most wonders of the world I've seen,

I've been in every makes you so

I'll never understand.

I understand that trees will bud

When springtime comes around,

And where there was no sign of life

The flowers deck the ground.

The Universe with allits parts

All work as they were planned,

But how you think and what you do

I'll never understand.

Astronomy I take in stride

And Calculus with ease,

And Greek and Latin are no sweat

I do them in breeze.

I lead my class most all the time,

I've never been behind

But I will never understand

The workings of your mind.

I understand things reproduce

According to their kind.

And how I wish I could predict

The workings of your mind.

I understand most formulas,

Their keys I soon can find.

But I no longer try to read

The blue print of your mind.
